La société chinoise Shenyang Optical Electronics Co., Ltd. propose différents objectifs sous les marques SYZYGX, Zhong Yi, Zhongyi, Camdiox, Mitakon, etc. et notamment un 85 mm f/2 et un 35 mm f/1,9 en montures Canon EF, Nikon F et Pentax K.

Elle fabrique aussi des objectifs pour projecteurs, un 35-200 mm f/3,8-5,2 en monture Ai-s pour Rokinon et un 85 mm f/1 de 15 kg  (!) dédié à la photographie aux rayons X.

Elle s'est lancée dans les objectifs pour mirrorless avec un 35 mm f/0,95 sous marque Mitakon disponible en montures Sony E, µ4/3 et Fujifilm X, puis avec le Mitakon Speedmaster 50 mm f/0,95, un objectif en monture Sony E qui couvre le format 24x36.

La voici qui s'apprête à commercialiser un 42,5 mm f/1,2 conçu pour le µ4/3.

4/3 Rumors indique que cet objectif devrait être commercialisé d'ici la fin de l'année :

Il y a un an, en juillet 2013, photo.sina.com.cn avait publié les photos d'un prototype :

mais il s'avère que le Zhongyi Mitakon 42,5mm f/1,2 est conçu pour le cercle image APS-C et sera disponible en montures µ4/3, Fujifilm X et Sony E, aussi ouvré-je ce fil.

"Above and beyond the nice metal and mechanical feel that manual focus lenses can give, I think that they can be of real benefit to users if they offer something more at a similar price than the corresponding autofocus lenses. I would say that this is the case with the 42.5mm. Its fast aperture of 1.2 can give you a nice bokeh and an overall beautiful rendering for portraits with that slightly vintage look you might appreciate. At 1.2 it isn't razor sharp but still usable in my opinion if you look at the whole picture and don't make a habit of pixel peeping.

For video use however they can become more interesting for their bokeh rendering and the overall vintage look they give to the footage (if you like this kind of rendering of course).

Both lenses have also been designed for APS-C and I am curious to see how they perform on a Sony a6000 or a Fujifilm X-T1."

"The Zhongyi Mitakon 42.5mm f/1.2 lens is a rather hit and miss product, getting some things right but others badly wrong. The manual focus only design is initially appealing in a back to basics way, and it's surprisingly easy to accurately focus using the peaking function on the Panasonic GX7 that we tested it with, but the construction is poor (and on our particular sample, worthy of return), the de-clicked aperture ring is too narrow, imprecise and the markings are too close together, and the tiny hyperfocal distance scale is virtually unusable.

In terms of image quality, the lens creates some nice bokeh effects when shooting wide open at f/1.2, creating an attractive dreamy look, but you really need to stop down to f/4 to get critically sharp results in the centre of the frame, with the edges slightly worse. This lack of sharpness may actually be a plus-point for portrait shooters who want a more romantic look - just make sure that the image quality fits your particular bill. Chromatic aberrations are commendably almost completely absent, but vignetting is pretty bad at f/1.2, not disappearing completely until f/4."
