Let's face it - a $68 lens isn't going to be perfect and this may be even part of the charm of buying such a lens. There are manufacturers of "vintage-style" lenses out there asking hundreds of dollars for "outdated" lenses and the Pergear 25mm f/1.8 can easily compete with those without breaking the bank. The lens has some obvious weaknesses but that doesn't mean it has no merits. For instance, it is actually very sharp at medium apertures. The center quality is decent at large-aperture settings and in shallow depth-of-field scenes, you may forgive that it has soft corners here. The level of distortions and lateral CAs is on the low side. Obvious weaknesses include the amount of vignetting and, in extreme scenes, some issues with flare. The quality of the bokeh is Okay.

On the mechanical side, things are pretty good with a few caveats. It's an all-metal construction that feels pretty reassuring. During use, you will notice a somewhat mushy action of the focus ring though and the photographers among you may need to get used to the clickless aperture ring. And yes, it's an all manual lens so, besides the lack of a camera-controlled aperture and no AF, there's also no EXIF data.

Once again - it's all about context. The native Sony lens most comparable to the Pergear is the Sony FE 28mm f/2 ... at 6-7x the price. So if you like to experiment or do crazy things with your camera/lens, the Pear gear is certainly a good candidate for taking the beating without you starting to sweat about the costs. If you desire perfection, you will have to look elsewhere but that can't come as a surprise really.

Le Pergear 28mm F1.8  (85 euros) est étonnamment bon dans son domaine par rapport à la concurrence en optiques manuelles ( Meike 25mm F1.8 & 7Artisans 25mm F1.8 )

Sur A6000 , le centre est excellent même à pleine ouverture et l'objectif est bon sur la plupart des critères , sa seule vrai faiblesse étant le piqué dans les coins , on utilisera alors F8 pour des résultats très bon sur tout le champ (le Meike fait mieux pour les coins)

Ce sera une optique idéale pour de la photo de rue , des portrait en plan américain
