Objectifs Samyang V-AF

Samyang vient d'annoncer une nouvelle série d'objectifs en monture Sony E pour la vidéo et le cinéma qui à la fois couvrent le format 24x36 et sont dotés d'un autofocus, les V-AF.

Le premier représentant est le V-AF 75 mm T/1,9. Suivront un 35 mm puis un 24 mm d'ici la fin de l'année, un 45 mm au deuxième trimestre 2023 et un 20 mm d'ici fin 2023. Tous ces objectifs sont T/1,9.

Il est probable que la partie optique de ces objectifs dérive d'objectifs photographiques. Il faut toutefois noter que, si Samyang dispose déjà dans sa gamme AF FE d'un 24 mm f/1,8, un 35 mm f/1,8, un 45 mm f/1,8 et un 75 mm f/1,8, il n'existe pas (encore) de Samyang AF 20 mm f/1,8 FE.

The Samyang V-AF 75mm T1.9 Video lens is actually just a very fine lens, as well as being part of a powerful line-up of matching lenses. The degree of uniformity is excellent and these siblings cannot really be told apart without reading the focal length printed on the barrel or looking through the viewfinder and seeing the different fields of view. They enable straightforward content creation and film making without the need for extensive colour matching in post-production. Whether shooting video or shooting stills, the lens performs to a very high standard, it handles well and it is basically a great lens to use.

Couple it up with drones and gimbals and we find a lens set that is fully interchangeable without missing a beat, as all the lenses are the same weight, the same size and have the same centre of gravity.

This is a well-thought-out and designed set of lenses, and the 75mm joins the 35mm in being Highly Recommended.

This is the second of three lenses that are being reviewed at the same time and it is very clear that we have an exciting range of matching optics that have a very high level of uniformity from lens to lens. The weight, the centre of gravity and the size are all identical. The properties do vary slightly and the 35mm does have a significantly higher degree of overall sharpness compared to the 24mm. The 35mm also has rather odd swirly bokeh at wider apertures, in particular, something that can appeal or not but which can also depend on the subject matter.

There is obviously an intention in the design to support videography, not least because of the Tally lights, the calibration in T stops, the uniform colour balance and the front electronic contacts for accessories. However, there is plenty of potential for using the lens for stills photography as well, and the results are excellent.

A lens that can be highly recommended for all content creators, videographers and photographers alike, offering straightforward and high-quality results.

Three lenses are being reviewed at the same time, and from the start, it is quite clear that we have here a very attractive proposition. That is a set of matching lenses that bring AF to the video lens line, and which have a very high degree of uniformity. Uniformity includes identical light weight and balance, advantageous for drones and gimbals, it means an identical colour balance from lens to lens and it means a set of lenses that are totally matched in many other properties across the range.

The 24mm is a lens that performs very well when stopped down, let down a little by being relatively soft at wider apertures, but nonetheless, a lens that is capable of producing high-quality results. It is also a lens that has potential for stills photography as well as the obvious benefits for content creators and film makers.

A lens that can be recommended, especially as a part of the full set.

Le Samyang 75 mm T/1,9 V-AF (629 €) est la version vidéo du Samyang 75 mm f/1,8 AF (440 €).

C'est un excellent objectif pour les Sony A7. C'est une focale inhabituelle mais néanmoins très pratique. Cet objectif a été créé pour avoir un maximum de performance dans la taille la plus compacte possible.

Tout n'est pas parfait, mais l'objectif est très bon partout où c'est vital : très bon à excellent piqué, très bon rendu des couleurs, très beau flou d'arrière-plan, beaux ronds de bokeh à pleine ouverture et f/2,8, autofocus efficace, petit, bon marché et léger sur hybride plein format.

Pour la partie vidéo c'est une réussite avec une gamme consistante avec taille et poids contenus pour une utilisation sur gimbal ou drone, une bague dentée pour des unités follow focus, une lumière témoin durant l'enregistrement. un commutateur bague de mise au point / bague d'ouverture. Le seul point plus faible est le focus breathing.

Les résultats seront parfait sur un 24 ou 42 Mpix, toutefois sur 61 Mpix on atteindra les limites de l'objectif à pleine ouverture avec seulement un grade très bon. Il faut fermer vers f/2,5 pour atteindre l'excellence sur Alpha 7R IV, ce qui est similaire au Sony FE 85 mm f/1,4 GM qui coûte 4 fois le prix du Samyang.

L'utilisation de cette optique est un vrai plaisir au quotidien et le rapport qualité/prix est excellent.
