Il est plus long et lourd que le Sigma récent aux caractéristiques proches (F/1.4 et mise au point à 45cm), pourtant loin d'être un modèle compact.
Tu parles du sigma art? Car ce dernier fait plus de 800g, donc non pas plus lourd.
Samyang est le meilleur choix en optique cinéma : en effet il faut de la douceur.
Canon sera évidemment la caméra.

Désolé, je me suis trompé avec l'ancienne version qui est encore à vendre, je pensais qu'ils l'avaient supprimé.
Vu le nombre de 50 f1.4 manuels qui traînent en occaz j'espère que le samyang sera pas chère ou sinon très bon.

et la plupart du temps moins gros et lourd!(franchement:77mm le diamètre du filtre! :o)
mon 50mm f1,4 fait 49mm de diamètre de filtre! ;D
et pour l'avantage de l'absence de crantage,(si j'ai bien compris)
il est enfantin de virer le crantage d'un vieil objectif! :D

Pas chère aucune crainte à avoir, pas cher on verra.

Les plus :
- très bonne qualité d'image au centre
- aberration chromatique raisonnablement corrigée
- légère aberration de coma dans les coins du format APS-C
- faible astigmatisme.
Les moins :
- la qualité d'image aurait pu être meilleure au voisinage de la pleine ouverture
- distorsion trop élevée
- performance inacceptable en contre-jour
- vignetage notable.
"Although the comparison between the number of pros and cons of the tested lens seems to be hardly favourable you still cannot call it a botched device, quite the opposite. Even though it costs only a bit more than brand name models with autofocus, in many categories it fared better than them. "The Samyang 50mm T/1.5 AS UMC (Samyang 50mm f/1.4 AS UMC) didn't really thrill us although it is far from being a bad lens. Its optical qualities simply don't stand out enough to make a difference compared to other 50mm lenses. That being said - the image center is quite sharp at max. aperture although the outer image region isn't all that hot here. Stopping down to medium aperture improves the quality especially in the image center and the borders/corners are getting quite snappy from f/2.8 onward. The image distortions are somewhat more pronounced than usual albeit still decent. The vignetting is pretty good for such a kind of lens. However, the biggest weakness is the bokeh - namely out-of-focus highlights - which can be a showstopper in low light scenes when using the lens at T/1.5 (aka f/1.4 here).
The mechanical quality of the Samyang lens is very fine. It may not have been carved from granite but the materials are of good quality and there are no wobbly parts ... except for the dreadful lens hood.
As mentioned we have tested the CINE variant which offers silky smooth focusing and aperture changes. We expect that the focusing on the conventional version of the lens is almost as good.
For photographic purposes, the Samyang lens makes little sense in our opinion. The Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM or the more expensive but superb Sigma 50mm f/1.4 HSM DG Art are more obvious choices - and both are fully coupled (AF, aperture) with the camera whereas the Samyang is an all-manual lens. The conclusion regarding the CINE version is more difficult when taking the very different requirements from the movie market situation into account. The Samyang (Bower/Rokinon/Walimex) is sold for as little as 450US$ or 550EUR. For comparison - the Canon 50mm T/1.3 or Zeiss 50mm T/1.5 cost about a 10 fold ... a difference which may let mortal movie makers forgive the few shortcomings of the Samyang actually."
J'ai apprécié un 14mm Samyang. Pour les autres focales, les ouvertures extrêmes ne me branchent pas particulièrement pour des questions de volume et de performances. Or c'est le choix de Samyang. Je préfèrerai des ouvertures de f2 plutôt que 1,4.

"This lens has some challenges. The relatively low price of existing 50mm f/1.4 lenses (despite a few outliers) has created less wiggle room for Samyang/Rokinon, so as a result this lens is not the budget value of many other lenses from the Korean manufacturer. I do wish that it was $100 cheaper; I think more people would take a chance on it at that price, but I wouldn't be surprised if Rokinon's margin is pretty slim on this lens. They've obviously invested some pretty serious engineering dollars to get an excellent optical instrument. The Rokinon 50mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC is not any cheaper than the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4, nor the Nikon G, nor the Sony Alpha 50mm, nor the original Sigma 50mm f/1.4 HSM, but it is optically superior to them all. The challenge for most photographers will be the fact that this lens does not include autofocus. That makes it a lot more work! Despite the negatives here, however, you can probably tell that I enjoyed my time with this lens. In many ways it did win me over by producing some great images that I'm really proud of. I'll also acknowledge that I am a bit of a masochist when it comes to photography; I enjoy the challenge of manual focus lenses. You will have to decide for yourself whether or not the excellent image quality from the lens is worth the challenges of acquiring images with it."
Les nouvelles versions des produits Adobe, Lightroom CC 2015.4, Lightroom 6.4 et Camera RAW 9.4 (pour Photoshop CC), incluent désormais un profil de correction de l'objectif Samyang 50 mm f/1,4 AS UMC et de ses variantes (Bower, Rokinon, etc.).
