It feels a lot like an old modular film medium-format camera, such as a Bronica or a Hasselblad, to use; a bit clunky, a bit slow, but you really engage with the world through it, and get to grips with it, and it imparts a sense of seriousness.

And you know how I've been going on about simplicity? Well, when set to stills, at least, this is a simple, purposeful camera.

Nokishita Camera a mentionné la prochaine publication par Sigma d'une "mise à jour majeure" (メジャーアップデート = major update en anglais phonétique dans la V.O.) du logiciel embarqué du Sigma fp L, la version 3.00.

La mise à jour 3.0 du logiciel embarqué du Sigma fp sera disponible au téléchargement demain 8 février. Au menu :

- nouveau mode couleur / preset "Warm Gold"
- compatibilité avec les SSD externes de capacité allant jusqu'à 4 To
- nouvel outil de contrôle de l'exposition baptisé EL Zone (l'image est affichée en différentes couleurs, par tranche d'un IL, comme un arc-en-ciel, les couleurs les plus froides correspondant aux zones les moins illuminées et les couleurs les plus chaudes aux zones les plus illuminées)
- connection au cloud, en partenariat avec Atomos (disponible lors d'une prochaine mise à jour du système d'exploitation AtomOS)
- nouveau réglage d'affichage : Director's Viewfinder Mode.

• A new color mode “Warm Gold” is added. This color mode creates a mellow atmosphere with subdued tones and warm colors.
     
• The “EL ZONE” option has been added to the “False Color” function, which displays the exposure status of any part of the screen in a color-coded manner, allowing you to monitor the exposure status of any part of the screen.
     
• “Focus frame only” has been added to the information display menu in the |▢| (Display) mode setting.
  “Focus Frame Only” appears in the menu only when the shooting style in STILL mode or CINE mode is set to STILL-like.
     
• The camera can now be switched off even during long exposures.
     
• The camera is now compatible with a 4TB (terabyte) external SSD.
     
• Open Gate (x1.25 / x1.3 / x1.5 / x1.65 / x1.8 / x2) for ARRI ALEXA LF / ALEXA Mini LF has been added to the camera and setting information registered in the Director’s Viewfinder.
     
• ATOMOS Cloud is now supported.
