Points forts :

  • fût robuste et protégé contre les intempéries
  • très bonne qualité d'image au centre
  • qualité d'image correcte sur les bords du format APS-C
  • aberration chromatique longitudinale légère
  • correction correcte de l'aberration chromatique latérale
  • astigmatisme faible
  • focus breathing négligeable
  • autofocus rapide, précis et silencieux.

Points faibles :

  • énorme distorsion avec les fichiers RAW
  • coma notable
  • vignetage bien visible
  • les performances en contre-jour auraient pu être meilleures.

At the same time it's worth noticing that optics producers are rather skimpy when it comes to launches of lenses with focal lengths shorter than 20 mm. We should appreciate the fact that Panasonic offered such an L-mount lens only three years after the official launch of the whole system.
