Foveon FF ?
Je n'y crois pas une seconde...
Pour moi la solution Foveon aurait été de rester en Apsc en faisant progresser le principe capteur-traitement d'image.
Mais Sigma avait d'excellentes optiques FF à vendre d'où la fausse route.
Dommage.

Is the development of the full-frame Foveon sensor entering its "next phase"?

We also discussed the annual topic of the "full-frame Foveon" sensor. Engineers remain assigned to the project, which continues, and there appears to be definite progress.

That said, it remains in the technical development phase. President Yamaki stated, 'We cannot make bold, positive announcements about imminent productisation.' Utilising partner companies' production lines means wafer manufacturing cannot be performed frequently. The iterative development process – analysing, addressing issues, and then re-manufacturing wafers – inevitably requires time.

Nevertheless, President Yamaki noted, 'Progress has been made since last year, and the scope of issues has narrowed.' Consequently, he hinted at optimism, stating, 'We might be able to advance to the next stage within this year.' Currently, development focuses on pixel structure technology, but the 'next stage' refers to the phase of actually manufacturing full-size sensors. Further development will follow, so commercialisation isn't imminent. However, achieving this would undoubtedly represent significant progress.

President Yamaki emphasised, 'We want to bring it (a full-frame Foveon camera) to market somehow.' This is because it remains an R&D project, and decisions must be made regarding market viability, demand, and whether the product will be accepted. Regarding market launch, President Yamaki stated, 'Whether we can present it as something of value in the modern era will also be a crucial point.'
