"Available from mid-October, a firmware update adds fresh functionality to the NEX-5/NEX-3. Autofocus operation is now supported when using A-mount SAM and SSM lenses with the optional LA-EA1 Mount Adaptor. There's also a new custom function that allows assignment to buttons of frequently-used functions, plus a new function to record movies with setup aperture."

Ça permettra de personnaliser l'interface en attribuant aux boutons disponibles les fonctions qu'on utilise le plus, ce qui évitera de devoir plonger au fin fond des menus pour régler la sensibilité par exemple, ou la balance des blancs, ou la compensation d'exposition, etc.

En usage "point & shoot" tout automatique ça n'apportera rien.

Par ailleurs on pourra désormais régler l'ouverture, donc gérer la profondeur de champ, en mode vidéo.

J'ai acheté récemment le NEX5 avec 18/55 (pour une utilisation assez spécifique: je voulais un appareil qui rentre dans la poche pour faire des photos "d'opportunité" en allant au travail)
Bref je n'ai pas forcément tout assimilé au mode d'emploi et je bute sur 2 problèmes en mode panoramique:
    comment obtient on un fichier raw en mode panoramique? (quand je suis dans en mode Aperture avec fichier raw +jpeg et que je passe en mode pano, il me sort un pano mais en jpeg uniquement, ce qui est inutilisable parce que les zones sur exposées sont irratrapables)
   peut on faire du panoramique mais en balayant suivant le petit coté? (je voudrais mettre la grande dimension verticale et balayer suivant la petite de façon à augmenter le champ couvert )

Si quelqu'un sait  comment faire, je suis interessé

1/ Ce n'est pas possible, un panoramique est une image résultant de l'assemblage logiciel de plusieurs autres, pas un fichier "brut de capteur" comme le RAW.

2/ Oui c'est possible, tu peux choisir dans les menus si tu veux faire ton panoramique dans le sens horizontal ou vertical. Choisir le sens vertical pour des panoramiques en mode portrait.

-Adds a user-selectable option to make the NEX menus wrap so scrolling off the bottom will take you back to the top entry again. (Not quite as important as the first change above, but this still removes an enormous annoyance.)

Nouvelle ergonomie :

"Once installed one should press the Menu soft key and then the Setup icon. There, scroll down about halfway and you'll see a new item called Menu Start. If you select Previous  you can now return to the last menu item selected the next time you go to that section. Scrolling through from the bottom of a menu to the top is now also implemented.

One other addition is the ability to set the length of time that manual Focus Assist is active. Also, the enlarged position is now maintained rather that reverting to the center every time.

About half way down the Setup section's scrolling list you'll see four new menu selections:

So, for example, you can set Custom 1 to be ISO, Custom 2 to be DRO / HDR, and Custom 3 to be White Balance.

When you now press the C button (which now is labeled on the LCD as "Custom") you will see one of the three Custom choices, and can use the scroll wheel to cycle though its choices. But you can also press the scroll wheel to the right or left thereby activating the other two Custom selections.

These changes only work in PASM modes, and when you switch to one of the special modes, such as Sweep Panorama or Anti Motion Blur, menu selections revert to their pre-firmware-update defaults. This is likely because in these modes most settings are fully automatic, but it can be somewhat disconcerting.

Autofocus avec les objectifs Alpha SSM et SAM :

"I tried six different lenses and all autofocused fine, but I found that the AF speed ranged from about two to four seconds. I would therefore judge this to be one of those nice to have capabilities, but frankly not something that I would use often, and certainly not at all if the subject is moving."

Conclusion :

"Well done Sony! From complaints to shipping firmware update in three months shows that there are execs at the company that are listening to end users, and who care. je pense qu'il y a de quoi ,ce n'est plus une mise à jouir mais une refonte complète du firmware pas encore parfaite hélas .
par contre j'ai l'impression que nos espérances d'un viseur électronique pouvant se brancher sur la prise flash ,micro etc..resteront vaines

"At Photokina, Paul Genge of Sony UK [said] it was possible to create a full frame NEX, using the same mount and the A-mount adaptor, but never the same lenses as the APS-C NEX. The mount had been designed to allow this and it might one day happen, in which case full-frame adapted Leica lenses (and so on) would be even more useful."

on trouve des jpg  mais est il possible de trouver des RAW du NEX 5 ?  genre paysage fort contraste , voir un jpg ça sert à rien

Mais il est vrai qu'il est assez difficile de trouver des photos au format RAW réalisées avec le NEX. J'ai l'impression que la plupart des utilisateurs, font leur photos en JPG.
